Graded 20 Fair 1.5 by SGC. Only eight total copies of the offered 1907 F.P. Burke Postcards Detroit Tigers Team have been judged by the grading service. Led by a trio of Hall of Famers including a young Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford and Hughie Jennings, the 1907 Tigers won the American League Pennant with a 92-58 record. Despite a strong core of Hall of Fame talent, the Tigers would succumb to the Chicago Cubs in that season's Fall Classic. Despite moderate foxing and limited creasing, this "roaring" correspondence piece still presents exceptionally well. The stamped reverse is postmarked twice on October 10th and 11th 1907 and includes an interesting pencil notation "Burt, Saw the Cubs beat the Tigers today 3-1 (Big Crowd) - JER." The attendee watched Game 2 of the Series in Chicago. A most interesting piece of World Series memorabilia!
